Friday Night at Home

So here I am sitting home Friday evening, Sandra is off at bingo ... and I ... going to watch movies on Netflix. So first step is to pour a glass of red, and with my buddy (Pepe) on my lap fire up the PC.

Weather in Merritt this day clear, and beautiful ... no wind ... very quiet here on my street tonight.

So what happened with me today, not a whole lot ... talked to Jack a friend of mine. He is assistant mine manager at Bralorne. So he wants me to come up and work a few days here and there, so I told him I would do so. Not sure when but awaiting their call.

Going to fix a few air machines (drills) to get them ready to restart their mining program ... will repair a few to get them started and order parts to enable them to go forward down the road.

So other then that pretty much a normal boring day for me, yep retirement lol ... anyway working on making it not so boring ... yak at you later.

a interesting morning, got into a heated discussion with a young lady or should I change that to female lol ... on Canuck fan page ... I am happy my mother passed a gene on to me allowing me to be a great mouth fighter lol ...

Anyway in the end I came out on top, not sure thats important ...

I was called an old man so asked mom when do you know you are old, she thought a brief second and then said i do not know ... she is 85 lol

Sept 10/2015 Merritt ...

Sitting here at home in my recliner contemplating life in general.

Challen a relative of mine lost his little girl of 14 months ... she had heart problems from birth ... its so sad when a youngster looses the battle ... and then there is my brother fighting hard with cancer ...

and you look at your own life feeling sad at times for yourself ... got to get up and get butt in gear ... live life for today and be happy you made it this far ...

do anything and everything you want to ... life is short at the best of times ....

Sept. 3/2015 David's Wedding ....

Time is flying by seconds minutes days and years all passing so fast, so yesterday David my brother and his long term common law wife Bernice finally made it legal ...

Was a very nice small wedding at my sister Brenda's home ... the weather was cool but nice ... got a bit windy at the end of it all but thats normal for Merritt ....

Both newly weds were quiet emotional s were the rest of us, anyway will not at this time say a lot more the day was a good one enjoyed by all in attendance ....

Merritt BC July 30/2015

Well I just had my medical, Doctor not happy with me ... cholesterol not the best and in early stages of diabetes .... so time to get off my ass and exercise ... look a bit better into what I am eating ... things like that .... Other then that I feel for the most part well as good as a 66 year old does lol ... my excuse most of the time lol ...

The music fest kicked off in Merritt today ... I think the music starts tonight ... and the town is looking pretty good balloons and the like around town .... So I am hoping for the best for the town of Merritt and hope its all a success ... Merritt need the good publicity it can bring.

So the lot next door is sold and I finally met the new owners, elderly couple going to build a double wide on a basement its what is required by code ... for this area.
 
Ok so keeping this short today but will try to write in here more often in the future.

Merritt BC July 21/15

Thought about time should add another little Blog ... not much new ... very hot and dry summer so far. A lot of forest fires in British Columbia so far this summer.

Taking a lot of pictures and getting a lot better at it then I used to be ... its a learning thing with me .... took some pictures of the girls/my grand niece at a horse show and I thought turned out OK ... made local news paper.

David, my younger brother is home here in Merritt from Churchill and is fighting Cancer ....

We went out and had our first campout with the Good Sam Club and met some new people, for the most part was a good experience ...
I'm thinking we will do the Cache Creek meet in September, its a bigger one and we will meet a lot of people there ....

So today was a very good day got two Jack Stands built for the 5th wheel ... and I know everyone will want some lol ...
Also go three big cedar bushes cut down from the side of the house ... sold the centre lot so they had to come down ... fire hazard anyway.

Merritt BC/Feb 8 2015

Politics, Religion, corruption and all the rest ... Been watching a way to much Netflix ... watching the Tudors and also Spartacus ... not I realize this is Hollywood's version as they see it and a bit of history I"m sure ...

Religion the biggest corruption of all ... violence ... greed ... death ... sex ... its all there ... so one has too wonder if it is the path to follow ...
Politics too the same extent is the same I suppose ...

Reason I'm thinking this way as several times a month i see neighbours all dressed up and off to their religion ... and then I watch the Tudors for example and makes me think ... I know they believe they are doing the right thing to achieve life hear after whatever that is ...

OK lol and yes I do like the sex parts in the Tudors and Spartacus ... I imagine it goes on today ... just not in my life lol ...

Getting away from this the weather is exceptional war for this time of year .... which I guess is a good thing ... who likes winter anyway... so might go out for a walk ... take some pictures if the opportunity is there.

Jan. 28/2015 Merritt BC

So what do you say or do? Over the last few years progressively not seeing or interacting with family members, and then one gets gravely ill ... so what then how does one get back into the fold for lack of a better way of putting it.

One a sibling and the other brother in law ... both fighting the dreaded disease of cancer ... which in the past has run rampant in our families.

I guess for my part just have to be here if they need anything ... as whats to say in a time like this.

Merritt/January2015

So this past weekend we went to a funeral, long time acquaintance/friend. Saying that in last 10 years maybe 15 this group of people I, we used to hang with has slowly dissipated ... not sure why I guess we all got older and our interests changed.
So at the celebration of life I as usual sat back and people watched and a lot of these people who were in the group were there of course ... showing their respect for their old friend/buddy. And again I was doing my analyzing of them all lol ... wondering what drives people apart. Me included as I guess I am as guilty as the rest. most of use I would say are in out 60"s and as we all know no one lives for ever.
Money making, family feuds lol ... religion ... drinking and not so much drinking ... everyone trying to get ahead and in some case at the loss of family ties and comradeship for lack of a better way of saying it.
The only positive thing is the deceased friend if you cab find something positive in dying ... is he died at the respectful age of 85 and in his sleep no pain so to speak and what else can we ask for ....
